Further, each condition has a controller because they can influence each condition: handler, guardian, or manager.

Keep Your Eyes Open

The need to have clothing security is not just about protecting your stores from shoplifters. It’s also about the need to dissuade your employees from taking advantage of you and your merchandise.

One instance that comes to mind surrounds a very well liked manager. Now perhaps I should begin by saying that we used Checkpoint tags for our clothing security. We were very good at making sure there were the appropriate type and quantity of security tags on clothes.

Security tags on clothes were not effective because we failed to eliminate his liberty with a detacher. A simple check and balance of another set of eyes would have all but eliminated the opportunity for him to steal.

Get A Fresh Start

Spring is in the air. Everywhere I turn, I see signs of new life. It is an invigorating feeling to think of all of the new and exciting possibilities. It’s not just from the trees getting their new leaves, or the flowers blooming along the streets. It is also inside the stores.

How Do They Do It?

I have had the unfortunate experience of having to apprehend juveniles for shoplifting in my stores. One of the big times seem to always be around the end of the school years with Prom looming in the background. I have caught, more than once, a love struck high school girl trying to steal her clothes and accessories for the prom to impress a young man.
