New Alpha Clothing Security Tags.

Alpha High Theft Solutions has produced several new clothing security tags. If you are a retailer that is concerned about clothing security you will want to look consider these in your arsenal.

The first is the S3 Multi Tag. This tag is a bit of a departure form the normal. The most obvious feature is that it has two pins. These pins are part of one base and form a “U”. Both pins lock into the hard tag. This makes the S3 Multi Tag ideal clothing security tags for lingerie, dresses or any other item with a strap. In this case the pins never punch through any material. This would also be great for leather items.

The S3 Multi Tag itself has a bit of a teardrop shape. It is 0.75” thick and 1.25” high by 1.25” wide. The S3 Multi Tag is very dark slate gray in color and requires a S3 detacher.

The second new item is the S3 Accessory Tag. This dark gray hard tag is somewhat triangular shaped and very small, 1.0” wide at the base and 1.0” tall. What makes this a hot item is that it has a very small black plastic coated aircraft cable tipped by a built in pin. The cable can loop around anything such as a shoe strap, purse latch or hardware. The S3 Accessory Tag could also be used with other merchandise such as power tools or anything else with some loop. It is a very versatile hard tag that is not just for clothing security

After looping the cable and pin through the merchandise the pin is then inserted into the back of the S3 Accessory Tag. It is then locked in place and can only be opened with an S3 Detacher. The really cool thing about these is that the cables come in some very nice lengths, 2”, 6”, 9”, and 21”. They are available in either RF or AM.

Thefts prevented with clothing security

I recently read about a theft in my city from several businesses in a mall.  The female suspect was caught and arrested after an alert store employee notified law enforcement about the theft.  When police searched the suspect’s vehicle, however, they found out that it was jammed full of merchandise that the suspect had stolen and taken to her car before returning for more.  She had, essentially, successfully stolen those items and would have been able to get away with the crime if she had not been greedy and gone back for more.

Much of the merchandise stolen was clothing from clothing stores.  There is one common factor among the victim stores – they did not have security tags on clothes.  There was no type of clothing alarm that alerted store employees that the thefts were occurring.  No type of clothing security is utilized in any of these businesses.  They suffered thousands of dollars of loss that was fortunately recovered – this time.  And if the crime hadn’t been discovered while in progress…those thousands would be lost.

Had clothing security tags been utilized, these stores may not have even been targeted by this individual.  Additionally, had this thief entered the stores with the intent to steal, she may have changed her mind when she realized that there were security tags on clothes.  She was able to get in and out of these businesses several times without drawing attention, and this is not easily done when clothing security is in use.

This tale of theft has a happy ending since the bad gal went to jail.  But for every shoplifter apprehended there are many more that are successfully stealing from businesses.  By protecting the clothing that you sell with clothing security tags, you are making a minimal investment that can have magnificent rewards.

Stop being a victem! Get a clothing alarm installed and go on the offense!

Protecting your profits with the use of Clothing security tags

Clothing Security Tags are used by many retailers in their efforts to help control theft by customers and maintain their inventory levels.

Professional shoplifters around the world are deterred daily by these security tags on clothes . If the regular shoplifter is looking for privacy and an easy way to get in and out of the store with very little recognition, then clothing security tags are a great deterrent.

As an example of the benefits of having clothing security, a sporting goods retailer I worked for had issues with customer theft of merchandise off of the salesfloor. The store input a clothing alarm program that included clothing security tags.  These security tags on clothes offered a visible deterrent to potential shoplifters. Thieves like to get into the store, take the merchandise they can quickly sell or move and get out of the store with as little interaction with store employees as possible. A clothing alarm takes away that privacy. The minute the thief tampers with the device or attempts to remove it in any way, an alarm activates. Instantly taking away the discreet atmosphere desired by these bums.

Clothing security tags are not new, but the technology is evolving. It is becoming more and more an important part of the everyday operations of many retailers. Certainly, for a business to grow and produce profits, they must have the merchandise to sell. Well, a solid clothing security program places the retailer in a better position to increase their profits.

That sports retailer I worked for as been able to keep their average shrink to less 1%, thanks in large part to the clothing security program they have enacted. Combined with an excellent employee awareness program, security tags on clothes offer the best way to keep merchandise in your stores and boost your profits.

Protect your business from shoplifters: Use clothing security

There are a lot of red flags that you may be noticing in your business that indicate that you are a victim of theft.  Are you finding hangers, tags, or empty packages out on your sales floor?  Is there merchandise that is unaccounted for?  Is your inventory telling you that there is supposed to be merchandise on your shelves that cannot be found?  All of these can suggest that you are losing merchandise to shoplifters and thieves.

If you own or manage a business that sells clothing, there are options in clothing security to help protect this highly sought after merchandise.  In the retail environment I work in, we see clothing shoplifted on an almost daily basis.  It is easy to conceal, therefore easier to steal.  Clothing security tags are one way to help stop this downward spiral of profit loss.

Arming your store with a visible alarm system at your entrance and exit, while having clothing security tags, can keep your clothing in your store for your customers to purchase.  Shoplifters are observant and scope out businesses they wish to target.  By having visual deterrents such as clothing security, you can have a profound impact on your profitability by retaining the merchandise you wish to sell.

Professional shoplifters, also called boosters, are out there and target businesses that sell clothing.  They can steal thousands worth of clothes in a very short amount of time, and leave you wondering why your clothing racks are empty.  Throw them off with clothing security tags and let them know you take the protection of your merchandise seriously.

Clothing without clothing security tags might as well say “Steal me” on the tag, next to the price that the shoplifter will not look at.  But by having security tags on clothes that you sell, you can send a different message to the shoplifter: “Plan to pay, or go away.”

Invest in clothing security and invest in your profits

Do you have a problem with shoplifting in your business?  Businesses that sell clothing are especially susceptible to shoplifting.  Clothing is easy to steal, easy to conceal, and is needed by everyone.  Clothing items can be stolen for personal use, for resale, or even to conduct return fraud.  However a customer may choose to steal from you, businesses need to have measures in place to reduce the loss from such actions.

Clothing security is a consideration that needs to be forefront on the minds of business owners.  Security tags on clothes are an excellent deterrent, used to stop shoplifters in their tracks.  Clothing security tags are a visual reminder to a potential shoplifter that the business they are in takes protection of the merchandise very seriously.

Shoplifters want simplicity and a quick getaway – with your merchandise.  When a shoplifter is deciding whether or not to steal from your store, he or she wants to be able to grab and conceal the merchandise without anything standing in their way.  So invest in security tags on clothes, so there can be something very effective standing in their way.

Clothing security tags are a visual deterrent, as well as an actual deterrent.  A clothing alarm sounding when clothing is leaving your business can also be a powerful deterrent to the average shoplifter.

Invest in increased profits and reduced loss in your business.  Utilizing clothing security tags on the clothing that you sell.

Security Tags on Clothes – Alpha High Theft Solutions

One of the easiest ways to combat shoplifting in your apparel departments is by using security tags on clothes. The average shoplifter prefers to go undetected in his/ her criminal activity. After all, that way they can come back and steal from you again. They don’t want to have to worry about pesky alarms going off and alerting the entire store staff and security personnel to their presence – and the presence of that backpack full of skinny jeans they’ve neglected to pay for. They’d much rather frequent an establishment that doesn’t take the time to place security tags on clothes.

If you’ve got teenagers (or used to be one) you know that they are always trying to keep up on the latest fashions. Often they try to maintain that fashionista persona even if they can’t afford it. There was a group of young girls that frequented a store that I worked at that was giving the store staff fits. There were different girls on different days; some were simply decoys while others did all the actual shoplifting. Some days they would come in, browse and take nothing at all – just to keep you on your toes. On the days that they did manage to apprehend one of the girls they later found that while they were processing the one, two or three others were making off with hundreds, if not thousands in merchandise.

The answer: Alpha High Theft Solutions. By simply tracking the trends and anticipating the teenagers theft patterns we were able to place security tags on clothes that we knew they’d be interested in stealing. As a result, regardless of any shell game they tried to play with the associates, the alarms would sound if they attempted to leave the store with the merchandise and it would also sound if they attempted to defeat the tag while still inside the store. We ended up apprehending several of the teenage girls, but more importantly by placing the security tags on clothes we let the community know we were serious about theft prevention.

New Clothing Security Tags – Alpha High Theft Solutions & More

Clothing security tags are a great invention and can be of even greater use in your attempts to reduce overall shrink in your stores. However, for years most of us knew that they could really only be trusted to deter the novice or amateur shoplifter because there were numerous ways to defeat them. Now, what I’m telling you isn’t information found in some super-secret thief handbook that can only be found next to the Holy Grail and big foot’s toenail clippings. No, it’s available online for anyone interested and there are even tutorials on how to disarm clothing security tags.

There was a time when all a seasoned thief needed was a roll of masking tape and a pair of needle-nosed pliers to defeat an EAS or ink tag. However, like those of the dinosaur and your old Barry Manilow record collection, those days are gone. Over the years the shoplifters have gotten smarter, so Alpha High Theft Solutions did the same and rolled out their S3 hard tags. Now when your not-so-friendly neighborhood shoplifter goes to work with his trusty pair of pliers, the alarm on the merchandise sounds, alerting anyone within earshot that a thief is present.

As you can imagine, this is the last thing a thief wants to hear. However, as a loss prevention professional it’s music to my ears. The S3 hard tags also sound when the merchandise leaves the store or when your more brazen thieves try to run out of the store with a handful of merchandise. You should never underestimate the ingenuity or the desperation of the criminal mind. Stay one step ahead of them by using clothing security tags on your high-risk merchandise.

Clothing Security

In the great big world of loss prevention we sometimes overlook the importance of clothing security . Let’s be honest, if it can be sold there is undoubtedly going to be someone who will want to steal it. They will jump through flaming hoops and concoct any imaginable scheme to get away with your goods. So let’s get back to basics; let’s make the merchandise unattractive to the criminals. Now, I’m not talking about filling your racks with leisure suits and polyester shirts with butterfly collars. I’m talking about properly protecting your items with ink tags, hard tags, lanyards, cable locks and anything else that will make a thief’s job more difficult.

Always remember, thieves are lazy. If they weren’t then they’d have good paying jobs and be able to buy the things that they want rather than searching for that “five finger discount”. This laziness causes them to always take the path of least resistance. In other words, why would they go through the trouble of having to attempt to disable ink tags and security tags on clothes or snip wires when they can simply go down the street to another retailer who doesn’t take clothing security quite as seriously?

Studies show that the average American family spends nearly $29,000 a year on clothing. The demand is astounding. The shoplifter’s demand mirrors that of the average person. Therefore, if you’re a supplier it simply makes sense to take every precaution to ensure that your product stays on the shelf long enough to be sold legitimately to the honest, hard-working people in our society. No question about it, if you’re a clothing retailer then clothing security should be high on your list of priorities. After all, security tags on clothes will keep your hard earned money on the your bottom line!

A simple decision – Clothing security for your business

You are a business owner.  You would like to make a profit – not have your profits walk out of your front doors at the hands of shoplifters.  There are so many ways to decrease shrink and increase profits, it can be difficult to choose amongst all of the options.

If you business sells clothing, clothing security tags are an option to consider when researching loss prevention ideas for your business.  Security tags on clothes can be an excellent deterrent to the shoplifter that comes into your business looking for the easy steal.

Clothing is a very common item for shoplifters to target, because it is easy to conceal and bunch up.  A large amount of clothing can fit into the average sized purse, under a jacket, in a pocket, or where ever else the creative shoplifter can think to conceal.  When a shoplifter is deciding whether or not to steal from you, having clothing security tags can definitely influence their decision.  Shoplifters do not want to have to figure out a way to get around clothing security, especially when they can target the business that does not have security tags on clothes.

The investment into clothing security is minimal compared to the increase in profits that you can experience as a business owner.  You can bring lower prices to your honest customers if you can reduce your losses due to shrink by investing in clothing security tags.  If you do not have any type of clothing alarm on the items you sell, you will experience increased loss, guaranteed.  And to recoup that loss can be detrimental to your business and your loyal, paying customers.

It’s a simple concept. Reduce your loss and increase your profits with clothing security and a clothing alarm .

Clothing security announces: “Don’t steal from me!”

I’ve decided I would like to start a life of crime.

Why work and make an honest living when I can steal to get the items that I want?  I think I will shoplift clothing so that I can return it for cash, or perhaps sell it in online auctions.  Or, I could even run my own underground shop and sell it right out of my home.

I want to be able to shoplift clothing easily, quickly, and without getting caught.

Unfortunately, the statements above are not uncommon.  Shoplifting is more prevalent than the average person can imagine, especially when many people are facing tough economic times right now.  When a shoplifter is scoping out a business to steal clothing from, they are considering what type of clothing security the business has in place.

Many businesses do not have any type of security tags on clothes .  These businesses are offering an open invitation to shoplifters that the shoplifters can steal with limited chances of getting caught.  “Clothing up for grabs” might as well be posted on the store front – because having no clothing security tags speaks just as loudly to the potential shoplifter.

If your store has clothing security tags or a clothing alarm , you are also speaking to the shoplifters.  You are saying, “I am going to do everything I can to prevent you from stealing from me.”  The mere presence of security tags on clothes speaks volumes to your level of security in your business.

Having clothing security also says, “so don’t even try, shoplifter.  Go elsewhere.”

If I decide to pursue that life of crime, I think I will choose a different business to victimize. One without clothing security or a clothing alarm.
