While it is becoming more of a standard practice to conduct background checks prior to offering a job candidate an offer, there can still be mixed feelings from the applicant.
Some job applicants can perceive background checks as the precursor to being micro managed or watched once they actually begin to work at your store or company. One of the biggest workplace complaints is that co-workers are inept. If they had lied on their resume to get a job they were unqualified for, they will eventually show their deficit in their job performance.
