Many stores offer a department dedicated to kitchen and cooking supplies. Some of the items are small and easy to conceal; knives, kitchen utensils, etc. But other larger items, like blenders, specialty coffee machines and cookware sets, are harder to hide on your person. When we asked him why he chose to steal this particular item over and over, he told us it was easy for him. Walking out of the store, unquestioned, with one high-valued item that could be returned later for store credit was easier than concealing multiple items.
